Abstract:
Hybrid propulsion vehicles, composed of an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor (EM) in a parallel architecture, require efficient control to maintain the EM speed at the ICE speed, in order to minimize the effort of the ICE and reduce gasoline consumption. In this work, a discrete control system is proposed to achieve EM speed regulation. To test the proposed control, an experimental platform is developed, where the ICE is replaced by a DC motor to provide a constant speed, which must be matched by an EM, also represented by a DC motor. The performance of the closed-loop system is verified through simulations conducted in Matlab Simulink. Subsequently, the control system is tested on the experimental platform, successfully achieving a satisfactory response to the required speed variations.
Keywords: DC motor, discret control, regulation, velocity.
