En la ciudad de Celaya, al igual que en la mayoría de las ciudades medias de la república mexicana, la baja densidad y el uso excesivo del automóvil puede derivar en problemas críticos de movilidad, haciendo visible la creciente congestión vial y contaminación, razón por la cual el plan de modernización del transporte público es una de las principales políticas de las autoridades municipales, congruente con la política de movilidad sustentable que promueve el Gobierno Estatal.
Tomando en cuenta la configuración de la ciudad, las necesidades de viaje de los usuarios y la infraestructura de las vías del tren del municipio de Celaya, así como una reestructuración de rutas del sistema de transporte público, se propone el proyecto de dos líneas de tren urbano y suburbano en el municipio que permita ordenar optimizar y modernizar el transporte considerando la proyección de desarrollo de Celaya y el entorno regional.
Estas líneas conectarían de manera directa los parques industriales del municipio, la zona urbana con las comunidades, integrando otros modos de transporte como son rutas alimentadoras de transporte y ciclistas.

Abstract
In the city of Celaya, as in most of the medium-sized cities of the Mexican Republic, the low density and excessive use of automobiles can lead to critical mobility problems, making visible the growing road congestion and pollution, which is why which the public transport modernization plan is one of the main policies of the municipal authorities, consistent with the sustainable mobility policy promoted by the State Government.
Taking into account the configuration of the city, the travel needs of users and the infrastructure of the train tracks of the municipality of Celaya, as well as a restructuring of the routes of the public transport system, the project of two train lines is proposed. urban and suburban in the municipality that allows ordering, optimizing and modernizing transportation considering the development projection of Celaya and the regional environment.
These lines would directly connect the industrial parks of the municipality, the urban area with the communities, integrating other modes of transport such as transport feeder routes and cyclists.
