Abstract
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) support a large number of both business and personal activities. In this sense, ICTs have contributed significantly to the different types and levels of education, supporting management and the teaching-learning process. This article proposes the design and implementation of a mobile application to support teaching children with disabilities. The application implements functionalities through catalogs of the types of disability, areas of knowledge, and games classified by type of disability, level, and area of knowledge. Also, the application has control over evaluating the exercises carried out and the level change in each knowledge area. In addition, the application allows for the generation of a report of the activities carried out by the child, which the parent or guardian can only consult. With this research project we can conclude from the methodological point of view that the teaching process for children with Down syndrome is a great practical and innovative contribution.
Keywords: disabilities, software app, mobile application, software design.
