LA SUSTENTABILIDAD EN LA FORMACIÓN DE LOS ECONOMISTAS

Resumen

La investigación que se reporta en este escrito, se desarrolló con docentes de la Escuela Superior de Economía del Instituto Politécnico Nacional-México, con el objetivo de identificar las representaciones sociales de la sustentabilidad.
El proceso metodológico se planteó en dos etapas; en la primera se utilizaron cuestionarios con preguntas evocadoras y en la segunda etapa guiones de entrevista.
Entre los resultados obtenidos destaca la identificación y caracterización de las representaciones sociales de la sustentabilidad débil, de la sustentabilidad fuerte y de la sustentabilidad súper-fuerte. Se encontró también, que estas representaciones se relacionan con determinados efectos de la educación ambiental.
Los resultados muestran la necesidad de incorporar aspectos de la sustentabilidad fuerte y de la sustentabilidad súper-fuerte en la formación de los economistas; se evidencia también la necesidad de actualizar a los docentes en contenidos referidos a la educación ambiental.

SUSTAINABILITY IN THE FORMATION OF ECONOMISTS
The research reported in this paper, was developed with faculty at the School of Economics of the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico, with the objective of identify social representations of sustainability.
The methodology was made in two stages; the first is used questionnaires with questions evocative and in the second stage interview scripts.
Among the results highlights the identification and characterization of the social representations of weak sustainability, strong sustainability and super-strong sustainability. It was also found that the two latter, are related to various aspects of environmental education.
The results show the need to incorporate sustainability aspects of strong and super-strong sustainability in the training of economists, is also evident the need to update teachers in content related to environmental education.
